Eight people who refused to pick a lane

NexusWave started with two friends at Cambridge who could not agree on whether games or art was the better hobby, and decided they did not have to.

The short version

We founded NexusWave Technologies in 2021 in Cambridge. One of us lived in ranked queues and kept building tools to play smarter. The other drew anime art and kept being asked where to buy it. Instead of starting two companies, we started one with a stubborn idea: the gamer and the collector are usually the same person, so why make them choose.

Today we are a team of eight across the UK, Poland and Japan. We build AI tools for gamers and draw every piece of merch ourselves. We are small on purpose — it keeps the tools honest and the art original.

What we will not do

  • Promise you a rank. No tool can, ours included.
  • Sell other people's art as our own.
  • Ship worldwide before our logistics can do it well.
  • Hide the price or the cancel button.
The founders

The two who started it

Owen Brookes

Co-founder · tools and game strategy AI

Owen spent more of his degree in ranked than in lectures, which turned out to be useful. He builds the side of NexusWave that reads your game and tells you the truth about your build. Allergic to tools that overpromise.

Yuki Tanaka

Co-founder · design and the studio

Yuki draws every original design that ends up in The Drop, from first ink line to final print check. She is the reason the merch looks like a manga panel and not a stock catalogue, and the reason the runs stay small.
